We believe in human-centred development. A grass-roots approach is necessary to address the multifaceted challenges of today: growing economic, social, and political inequalities, a decline in political participation and the growing need for specialized expertise in an increasingly complex public policy environment.
While international brands are present all over social media, focused on potential customers, principles and values of democracy need to be present with every voter, especially young people.
For young people, the internet and social media are the main sources of media consumption and information gathering. Democracy and its principles and values are very little or nonexistent in this context. In existing democracies, young people in everyday life, have little connection with democracy, leaving it up to other systems to manipulate and influence people. We want to involve young people to communicate about democracy.
The House of Democracy proposes to inform and discuss the principles and values of democracy on communication channels used by young people and using language, styles and tools common to them.
