1 Qurum and Opening
The House of Democracy Board of Directors quorum is ratified.
Dr. Hande Özsan Bozatli, Founder and chair opens the meeting.
2 Agenda
The agenda is approved.
3 Membership applications
The following members are adopted:
– Laura Batalla Adam, Leyla Emeç Tavşanoğlu, Okan Karadag, Ali Cinar, Marion İkonomu, Kurt-Åke Hammarstedt, Zeynep Aliş, Özlem Akpulat, Akile Gürsoy, Susanne Gabrielsson.
4 Approval of Minutes
The minutes of Board Per Capsulam Minutes 29 April 2021 are approved.
5 Projects
Sanja Šifliš Lucic, responsible for Projects/initiatives Management, presents a list of possible procects. The idea is to attain higher visibility, and to find projects/initiatives that could be financed, as well as projects that could finance the work of our organization.
The initiatives that will be further developed is listed below along with the Board member in charge:
1) Biopolitics (disinformation) during the Covid-19 pandemic – Webinar (Sanja Šifliš Lucic)
2) Women in politics and women’s politics – Webinar (Beat Rohner, Roy Perry)
3) Culture and Democracy – Academic online debate (Maria Economou)
4) Free state institutions, guaranty for democratic societies – Public debate (Emir Tahiri)
5) Democracy from Greek period (Aristotle and Plato) till today (Excluded)
6) Proposal for project research – possible Peer review (Subject for online meeting)
7) Respect for environment – Project (Subject for coming discussion)
6 Reports
Report on the development of the House of Democracy so far: The website is being developed into an online community. Members will be able to log in and view member-only content.
An area is also set up for the Executives and the Board of Directors.
There are still some problems with the payment system and donations.
Klaus Klipp, responsible for managing the Social Media Team, introduces two interns, Breeana LaQuea and Hannah Hofmann.
