The current board is in unanimous agreement that the House of Democracy is needed now more than ever and expects a report after her visit.
4 Project proposal
Katarzyna Jędrzejczyk-Kuliniak presents a project proposal: Disinformation as a global challenge. Women, gender and identity under fire of fake perception of the world. The content is an intensive, 4-week online course, who delves into the complex issue of disinformation as a global challenge, with a particular focus on its impact on women, gender, and identity.
In the digital age, false narratives and information manipulation have become powerful tools for shaping perceptions, polarizing societies, and undermining democracy. The project will focus on how disinformation is used to attack and marginalize specific groups, reinforce harmful stereotypes, and influence public discourse on gender equality and minority rights. The course emphasizes active participation, group collaboration, and the practical application of knowledge through the creation of a website project.
The House of Democracy is asked to provide experts to share their knowledge and experience.
The Board looks favourably on the project and Akile Gürsoy and Jacek Pilawa in particular declare their willingness to contribute to the project. [EDIT: Thomas Hartman and Carina Eriksson gave the Regions Västerbotten’s support as well as SWEDO’s for the project. They declared that they are happy to continue the discussion about representatives and participation.]
